What Every Parent Should Know
Education is Intervention.
Statistics show that when kids are armed with facts, they make better choices.
Additionally, when parents are informed, they can make powerful choices for their kids.
Protecting our children, helping kids make good choices, intervening for teens that need help, is Teen Intervention’s Mission.
Education and information is the key – knowledge is power.
Our mission is to empower families.
Teen Intervention is excited to introduce our new Red Ribbon Week Program.
The "Step Up to the Microphone" program provides several benefits:
1. Provides a wonderful program that brings families, schools, and communities together in a powerful way to fight substance abuse and to prevent the children of today from becoming the "At-Risk" teens of tomorrow.
2. Allow parents and teens with knowledge about the "At-Risk" crisis to share their experiences and insights with parents who may not be aware of the solutions and hope that is available. These program graduates (teens) get the opportunity to "pay-it-forward" in service to others as part of fulfilling their personal life contract. They have a powerful message to share and can speak first-hand about the dangers of substance abuse.
3. Raise money to create future programs and directly support families with teens currently in Residential Treatment programs across the country.
The deadline for ordering your "Step Up to the Microphone" kit, which includes the "100% ME drug free!" Certificates, the "8 Ways to Respect Yourself" bookmarks, and the parent and student curriculum (which will be emailed directly to you for reproduction) is October 6th to insure that you have your materials by October 23rd, the start of Red Ribbon Week.
Below you will find fact sheets, articles and excerpts from books.
Reading that we feel is vital to understanding our kids.
This is a list that will continue to grow, so come back often for updates.
