The National Teen Intervention 5k Walk™ benefits families of At-Risk Teens. The number of teens in residential treatment, 30 day rehab, wilderness camps, and private boarding schools is on the rise. The number of teens who are "falling through the cracks" of our system is staggering; the statistics are frightening. The average length of stay for a Residential Treatment Center graduate is 15 months, at a cost ranging between $40,000 and $80,000 depending on the treatment. Most of this cost is NOT covered by insurance. There are families who have sold their homes, cars, cashed in 401K’s, college funds; doing whatever it took to save their child.

As a walker or sponsor, you have an opportunity to make a huge difference. By choosing to Intervene-For-A-Teen you choose to improve your community, your family, the workforce of tomorrow, and basically, the world we live in. Today’s teens are tomorrow’s future. These At-Risk Teens will either be a part of the "system" which is a large tax burden, they may die, or we can intervene and bring them back into society as whole and healthy young adults. I ask you, what better cause could you support?

These are not just kids from broken homes. These are not just kids from low income communities. These kids are your neighbor’s or perhaps your own. These kids are your nieces and nephews, cousins and siblings. They are kids on football teams, debate teams, cheerleading squads and homecoming courts. They baby sit your children, mow your lawn and are active in your church youth group.
